hmm cleanign sax, well, what most people eman by that is to run a cleaning swab through the instrument to stop mold on the instrument and/or pads, and to stop the pads from being ruined. for people with higher end instrument tend to be more finicky and run another cloth and wipe down the instrument to get any sweat and residue from your fingers off the keys to stop the finish from corroding off. hope this helps.

You can buy a swab or make one by yourself, with a large handkerchief and a lace....but I think you should clean your sax after each use.
If the pads are sticky, you can clean them with some cigarette paper. Regularly, wash the mouthpiece with soapy water..and always dry the reed carefully if you don't want it to become weak.
Hope it helps. that's how I clean mine since 11 years.

Go to the music store, and get a terry cloth saxaphone cleaning kit and reed storage case. basically, the terry cloth has a weighed string attached. You put the string down the bell of the horn and pull it through repeat.... until clean.

ok ppl, another question. im a freshman in high school and recently my alto saxaphones paint has just... i guess youd said its disappearing. Its silver underneath, but had a light blue tint on top of the silver. There is no residue in the case. Its almost ai if its... melting away. Any tips on whats wrong or how to clean up this mess will be appreciated. Thank You.
