 Reed maintenance

When I am finished playing my "sax", can I leave the reed and mouthpiece all assembled together on the neck of the saxaphone,laying around on the sofa.And will reeds dry out.

no no and no
don't leave your reed or your sax out. put both in cases and clean your sax every time after you play

some people do leave their reeds on their mouthpieces when done but i wouldn't recomend it as the reed can become moldy hope this helps

Purchase a case made to keep reeds flat and mold free.

Thank you "D"; "Amanda"; and "Carolyn" for your advice regarding reed maintenance.I didnt know this.This probaby explains why it is difficult to play at times.So thank you for your experise advice.I am a beginner so I will be asking questions in the future.Please do not be offended if some of the questions seem to be silly.
