i just bought a tenor sax after playing alto for a year i am having trouble gettin out notes and tips or ideas?

just keep at it and eventually you'll get it but try and loosen your bottom of your jaw this will prabably help a lot.

I switched from alto one year to basoon for two years and now i am playing bari sax. it is hard. you have to keep your jaw low and your mouth open. faster air too!!! good luck!!!

also, make sure you are taking in enough mouthpiece. if you take in too much, you'll squeek, but that isn't usually a problem with big mouthpieces. you'll also need to make sure you take in more mouthpiece, too little and you'll be biting to hard and squeezing the notes out, and when you get up to the higher notes, it'll become a problem. hope this helps.
