You may have seen the latest string of advertising and name-calling posts in this forum, and few regulars have expressed their disgust. I'd like to review some suggestions for dealing with such posts here.
- Don't reply to inappropriate posts--just ignore them. Each reply is a victory for the unwanted author, whose goal is to corrupt this forum, even if the one who replies has good intentions. Each reply is also usually one more post that I will have to delete, as such replies are usually contentless and off-topic like the unwanted post.
- If you spot an inappropriate post, please contact me (wfg AT woodwind.org) via email. I'll need the ID number, which is part of the URL of the page that displays the post. I'll review the post and delete it if necessary. I periodically check recent posts for garbage, but sometimes they appear a little faster than I can spot them.
- Please keep language clean in all posts. I rarely delete on-topic posts, but I have deleted a few this week that contained filthy words. Please respect the younger audience.
And of course, please continue to enjoy the Forum!
