Just a reminder to everyone:
Please be respectful when replying on this forum. Refrain from using vulgar language that others might find offensive. There are people of all ages viewing these messages, and some things may not be appropriate for them (or anyone else for that matter) to read.
We're all here to help each other, whether we are beginners or professionals, so please make constructive posts or don't post at all. If your comments have no other purpose than to degrade others, please keep them to yourself. Yes, we all get tired of "where can I find a fingering chart?" but remember, many people just see this site as a forum, not necessarily paying attention to the fact that it is, indeed a fingering guide site. Mean or derrogatory comments only make YOURSELF look bad.
Many times forums get out of control with inappropriate and unmusical material. Don't let this happen to this one.
Yours,
Amanda

Actually, considering the people posting on this forum do represent such a varied group of people from all over the world, I think it's remarkable that there isn't more rancor on the board.
I did a search on the forum before writing this for certain "colorful metaphors" to see how many times vulgarity has actually been employed in our postings, and you might be surprised what I found.
Out of the hundreds of messages that have been posted here, the F-bomb only appeared in one post, and that was one of those random, non-sensical posts that people occasionally drop on us from out of nowhere. I believe the last one was from 04/19 entitled "RE: TUBAS".
The S-word only appears in six posts, and the word "damn", which depending on context may or may not even be obscene appears in sixteen of them.
Other obscene words I searched for either did not show up at all, or revealed a lot more matches than what is representative of actual usage in the forum because of longer words which incorporate that word in their spelling (i.e. the word associate).
So congratulations to the Woodwind.org Forum faithful; you are a G-rated bunch!

If you do see any vulgarity on this site, report it to Tim Reichard at the link at the bottom of the page and he will remove the offending post. Perhaps this is the reason Torus found few bad words. On the other hand, I've only had to alert Tim a few times.
