Comparing the air pressure on a flute to the bow pressure on a violin, should the air pressure be as consistent as the bow pressure?
P.S. and can anyone tell me how the amount of air pressure on a flute relates to the amount of bow pressure on a violin? (Like, for the low, middle, and high registers)Thank you.

Yes, air pressure should be constant, but more in the top register, and "less" (although still enough to keep the tone clear and the pitch up) in the low register. It's hard to compare bow pressure from the arm with air presssure from the diaphragm. It's like comparing apples with oranges. But on the subject of consistency, yes, it is the same. You never want to play with little pressure, or the tone and intonation will suffer.
