 La Cage Aux Folles

I will be playing La Cage this summer - anyone have any experience with this show? I'm doing the ob/eh book, but I'm not familiar with the music at all, so input from anyone who has played it (or knows it) would be welcome!

Just thought I'd answer my own post, in case anyone is interested! La Cage has really fun fast parts - quite possibly the hardest book I have ever done endurance-wise. You just keep playing and playing! And apparently this is true for all the parts, not just the winds. We are all just wiped out at intermission.

We have a full pit of 21 - the wind 1 book is 5 doubles (picc, fl, alto fl, clar, a sax) and it is a LOT of picc. High fast stuff too, as is my book 3 (ob, eh). There is hardly anything for eh. Book 2 has some nice flute solos (& clar, a sax), 4 has a few clarinet solos (t sax), and 5 is the fun honky bari/bass clar (or bsn) book. The parts are not written well, lots of mistakes and bad notation. Great show.
