I went to the cane patch this weedend and cut some cane. Cutting 10-11mm joints only yields 1 to 3 joints per cane. Also I noticed a big difference in the hardness of the old cane and the new cane. This is just an experiment and something I think I should try.

I noticed that 'ready to tie' reed cane can be bought on the internet. Is this what most people use ?

I have the latest wwbw woodwind catalog. I also have found plenty of cane suppiers on the web.
