I remember reading about the piccolo Heckelphone in an instrument encyclopedia close to 30 years ago! I had always been curious about these and wished to play one... because, back then, I was obsessed with getting the highest notes possible out of the instrument.

Today, I am more obsessed with getting a "baroque-ish" sound out of the instrument.... hence my desire for a d'amore that does not sound like a miniature English Horn.
