Just keep in mind that the shape of the staple - different between manufacturers - makes a huge difference in the result, so the only fair comparison would be with different alloys on the same shape of staple.
That said, the difference between brass and German silver has always been a question in my mind. I've preferred German silver, but that's probably just a subjective judgment...
