I have benefited from two approaches to difficult passages.
The first approach is to practice it from the last notes first. Take. e.g., the last three notes, and practice them slowly, building up speed in repetitions. Then add one or two more notes, i.e., play the last 4 or 5 notes, again slowly at first and then picking up speed. Add notes only when you are comfortable with the already- practiced group.
The second approach, which is particularly beneficial when there appears to be an uneveness in your playing of the passage, is to play it in two opposing dotted rhythms. First play it several times as if it were written in a repeated dotted eighth note followed by a sixteenth note pattern. Then play the passage several times as if it were written in a sixteenth note followed by a dotted eighth note pattern. For me that immediately smoothes it out.
