Hello Clair,

I would suggest that you talk with Howarths in London, the main makers, Loree, Marigaux, Rigoutat and Howarth of course, they carry both thumbplate and Gillet (conservatoire) models and will be best to advise you...

The best test is to go there and try them for yourself...you can read all you wish and you have had some wonderful former threads posted here so take what you can from them and bear that in mind when you are trying instruments for yourself...
