I was waiting for a review which never came. Since I just started teaching myself oboe, I needed a reed making video immediately. I purchased the Weber & Capps video.
It is very thorough, step-by-step, and well done. Weber starts with oboe reed making, and Capps finishes up with English Horn reed making. Capps thoroughly demonstates checking the reed crow, and testing the reed with the English Horn. He also demonstrates the proper embouchure for this style reed, which as a beginner I found very, very helpful.
I subseqently purchased the manual, and it is very detailed with lots of drawings.
The manual and video do their part, and the rest is up to the reed maker practicing to duplicate the instruction.
If you don't have a teacher, it's a must, and even with a teacher it's worth having. I now have a teacher, but I refer to the video and replay each step of the reed making process while I'm making a reed.
