1. the wind pressure is not as bad as it looks. That said, you can quickly pick up "bad habits" with respect to tone production and building up your own internal resistance ! If possible, consider getting yourself some instruction in the early goings.
2. If you can get some instruction, then you could pick up some fairly cheap reeds on the web -- I understand from a friend of mine w/ a lot of students that the $5.10 no-name reed at woodwind/brasswind (www.wwbw.com) are good, provided you can have someone adjust it a bit.
3. If that's not an option for you, you could give fibercane reeds a whirl. Their main advantage is that they are easy to blow and last forever, but the sound quality isn't terribly terrific. It's been a million years since I've used one, though, and I have no particular ones to recommend.
