As a beginner learning at home alone, I find that I absolutely require some kind of playalong accompaniment in order to make sure I'm just plain playing up to pitch. I knocked off with the accompaniment for a while last year and focused on technique for a couple of months, and when I went back to the CDs, I discovered to my dismay that I was chronically flat, and had a terrible struggle for the next week or so, basically relearning everything I had just learned but this time "in tune". ![[frown]](http://test.woodwind.org/clarinet/BBoard/smileys/smilie2.gif) And I was sounding so good, too...but apparently flat.
So no more a capella practice for this gal.
