Re: Nielsen Reed making kit - opinions?

I use Nielsen knives exclusively. I have tried Landwells, Philadelphia, herder, you name it. I always come back to the Nielsen knives -- they hold an edge for a long time, are easy to sharpen, and are just all around great knives. And, they are relatively inexpensive as opposed to Landwells which I beleive are upwards of 60-70 bucks these days.

Definately a good choice -- I play professionally and make reeds for many people and students. You cannot go wrong with these knives. Great investment! Two of my knives I have owned for 3-4 years. Go for it!
