I just went to the Musical Instrument Exhibition in Pudong, Shanghai.

So I tried every oboe there, I found out it's a good news for beginners.
There are two brands are good.
1. Sunrise
2. Futeng

The Futeng is made in Beijing by Wang Xin who learnt oboe making with Josef in Japan. He actually finished some parts for Josef. This brand's price is higher but the key's metal is better.
I bought a Sunrise back to Hong Kong to try. It surprised me, the C#-B trill is ok,low Bb, left-hand F, all trill keys.
The body was not polished as good as Yamaha, but the key pressure is good. However Sunrise's keys' metal is not as good.

See the price, the Sunrise is around $800 USD.
The Futeng is around $1400 USD.
It plays like a Yamaha 431/441 but the keys' option is like a professional oboe.

I am very happy to share with the teachers and beginners around the world.

However I notice, many brands look similar in China, you always have to test every oboe carefully. Some brands look good but they don't play well.

It definitely is a good news for the people who can't afford a Yamaha or Fox.
