At the BDRS (British Double Reed Society) Convention 2006 at Knellar Hall, Royal Military School of Music, Ingo Goritski was the oboist professor who was invited.
At the start of his recital, he hardly warmed up or tuned and soon enough something went madly wrong with his oboe-- so he fiddled about a bit and then started the piece again to find the same problem! It went on for a while until a repairer who happened to be in the audience came to fix the problem....
I don't think he quite recovered from it....
