I use a Rigoutat -2 shape on 46mm Glotin staples. I find that with a European-scraped reed, I need to tie on to 73-73.5 and cut off to around 72 to have a reed in tune. I don't find great differences in tuning between this and a narrower shape [depends more on how you finish the reed] but the -2 shape is more reponsive on low notes, makes a darker sound, and does not project as well as a narrower shape.
Probably perfect for 2nd oboe reeds then...
