In the US, orchestras represented by collective bargaining (via the union) have published salaries, trivial to find should one want to.

The top orchestras in the US have salaries near or exceeding 6 figures. For instance, last year the Detroit Symphony base salary was $96850 http://www.icsom.org/bulletins/detroit04.pdf, this year, NYC Ballet $62806 http://www.icsom.org/bulletins/NYCBO%202006.pdf, last year Boston $112840 http://www.icsom.org/bulletins/boston02.pdf, NY Phil $107120 increasing to $112060 next year, etc.
