Corinne,
Here are three things to do or check:
1. The pad may have something sticky on it. Try to clean the pad and the tone hole.
2. Check to make sure another key is not holding the C key down.
3. If the screws that physically hold the key in place are too tight, the key might stick or be sluggish. Take a small screwdriver and loosen the screw(s).
