I've only just heard about LnK synthetic oboe reeds which are competitively priced compared to both Legere and Silverstein. They're currently £89.95 compared to £109.00 for a Silverstein and £114.00 for a Legere.
And with that, I ordered two mediums to see what they're like. First impressions just play testing them are very promising and they do them in strengths from S, M, H and XH and three different models. Ideally I'd have gone with MS but that's not an option. Apparently they can be adjusted by sanding and scraping like cane reeds if the strength isn't right.
I've not yet had an opportunity to try them in a concert setting as I only heard about them at a concert on Sunday the 19th of July, then I ordered them when I got home after the concert and they arrived on Tuesday the 21st.
The ones I got are both European short U scrape and are slender in their design compared to others, as well as having three raised rings for grip on the 'staple' to assist fitting and removal.
