The sheer amount of edits—2,200 new ones, building on the original 21,000 corrections from the 2000 edition—is mind-blowing. It’s amazing to think how Stravinsky's work, which is already so iconic, can still be refined and reinterpreted in such precise ways. I’m curious about how these updates affect the overall performance. Does it change the way the orchestra navigates certain tricky passages or bring out new nuances in the rhythms? Also, the fact that this edition is rooted in both Stravinsky’s 1920 manuscript and the 1921 published score is so significant, as it brings us closer to the composer’s own revisions and intentions. I can only imagine how invaluable this edition will be for performers, conductors, and musicologists who are really digging deep into the Rite.MusikFind1 wrote:
