In the realm of "critical thinking," we would call "as good as Loree or...complete garbage" a "false dichotomy." Obviously there is a middle ground here....

OK, now that I've said that and gotten my quotation marks out of my system, why do you want to know? Have you found one for sale somewhere? I have a Prestini but in the last six months I have seen almost no mention of Prestini oboes on the web, despite much Googling. The only thing I have seen was mention at Peter Hurd's site, in his "Oboe Makers and Commentary" page: http://www.oboes.us/resources/makers.html. (OK, I guess I wasn't quite done with the quotation marks yet.)

Mike

Still an Amateur, but not really middle-aged anymore
