The only way to find out how the left keys fit your hand is to try various models out. The Oboe Fairy has many different brands of used oboes available and will send you four of them for you to try.

Since you are a beginner, you are playing on softer reeds that are usually brighter in sound. Therefore, I recommend an instrument with a darker sound, such as Yamaha or Howarth. French instruments tend to have a brighter sound than many others, so Loree might not be for you.
A 20-year-old Loree in good condition will cost you around $5,000. For that same price, there are quite a few other instruments you can buy that are newer. I recommend that you ask Hannah for advice and tell her your price target.
