New to the Oboe

Author: Zia  Date:   2018-12-24 18:17 Hi, i just got an unbranded wooden Oboe for Christmas, I've wanted one for a while but have never played one before, i mainly play Clarinet. After cleaning it up i'm had a small go with it and was wondering what advice you had for someone starting out It'll need new pads soon which i will replace once i have a grasp better grasp on how it works, I've re padded several clarinets and a couple flutes. Which pads on at a reasonable price would be the best to get? usually on clarinets i go for the Chinese ones on plastic bodied ones and Soundman on wooden ones.
