 Left-handed pocket caliper?

I use a brass pocket caliper, the type that every double reed shop sells. For my purposes, that's all I need because it's easy to handle. However, I would like a left-handed one. I've Googled through the years once in a while to see if a left-handed one exists anywhere and it seems like only specialist calipers (large or digital ones) are made for both handedness. Has anyone ever spotted a small left-handed brass one? It has always been a little bit more awkward for me while reedmaking.

I've never seen a cheap tool like a brass caliper in a mirror image version.

If you turn the caliper so that the measuring marks face away from you, you now have a left-handed caliper that works just fine for measuring staple length, if that's what you use it for. I could also flip it upside down and use it with the marks facing me if I were left handed.

I just find it so odd that such a cheap tool hasn't been made somewhere. :) Yeah, for staple length, it's easy enough to measure on the non-pointy side or just hold it the RH way. It gets more annoying while measuring with cane before it's been tied on or in the process of being tied on. Hand gymnastics. Ah well, c'est la vie. Maybe I should make friends with a machinist.

I'm Left-handed and I've never had a problem using a standard caliper.

My caliper has a lock-screw that keeps it in one position, and a foot-probe for measuring depth.

I drop the probe through the staple for an accurate measure of length, then lock the lock-screw. Now the caliper is set perfectly to this staple-length, and can be used both ways round.

I never look at the scale while tying.
