When I worked at a music shop a Lark oboe came in for a check-up - fully automatic ring key conservatoire system (older German spec) and the shop owner was going nuts as he couldn't make the upper register D speak cleanly.

He's a sax player and was using the sax fingering for the D (8ve xxx|xxx), then after a lot of swearing and failed attempts to make the D speak cleanly he finally gave up then handed it over to me to try. I then played it using the correct fingering and it worked fine, so it's always nice to get one over on your boss.
