I have a trombone but I rarely play it. Brass is hard on the lips for any player so of course you need rest after playing it. Don't think it'd screw up your embouchure permanently but I would wait a few minutes until the lips don't feel weird anymore before picking up the oboe. I actually tried doubling once for fun (just for a few mins), which was kinda hilarious cuz I was doing it in the same piece with like a bar's space between sections I was filling in for lack of a trombone player.
I'm actually quite interested in learning the cornetto (the renaissance instrument, not the modern cornet trumpet), which has a very tiny mouthpiece. I find the oboe a very good substitute for many florid cornetto works, but definitely want to try the real deal one of these days.
