If you roll LH finger 1 down for middle and altissimo C#, D and Eb you should back the adjusting screw fitted to LH1 off completely so it opens fully.

If you lift LH finger 1 off completely for these notes (which is common practice in the UK with thumbplate and dual system players), then you'll have to screw the top fingerplate right down (but not completely) so it moves very slightly and adjust it until the notes speak easily.
