Hi all, I've been an oboist for 15+ years and am just starting to get into repair. I bought a grenadilla Conn oboe from a neighbor to use as a "learning" instrument to practice basic repair skills. It's in decent condition with no cracks, but needs a complete repadding. It is an intermediate (low Bb but no left F). If overhauled it might make a nice student or loaner instrument.
The serial number is 0125A and I'm trying to figure out the age of the instrument. This site has a list of serial numbers with dates, but it's not seeming to match up with my instrument: http://cderksen.home.xs4all.nl/ConnQModels.html
Does anyone have any insights or know where I might be able to find out more information?
Thanks.
