Cor Anglais: low C

Author: Loliver  Date:   2014-01-30 18:56 Hi all, I'm having issues with the low C on my Cor Anglais. The low B, C# and D are fine, but the C is very difficult, and 80% of the time jumps the octave. My teacher has tried a lot of things, such as adjusting screws and checking pads for leaks and gunk, and she can't find out why. It's not the reed, as she tried it with her own reed, and it happens for her as well. There are no cracks, and no leaks, that we know of. It's only about 14 months old (It's a Howarth 40c Dual system), and there is nothing wrong that either of us can see. Any ideas would be much appreciated! Thanks
