 Martin Freres Oboes?

I was hoping to see if anyone familar with Martin Freres brand instuments, or the company itself? I am looking into old oboes, and have never heard of this brand, it's supposedly antique. Anyone familiar with them? I also was looking at a Linton Gold Medal? Is that old, or at least wood? I really would like a wood oboe so I don't want to waste my time on resonite/ABS ones. I'm looking at this for possibly the future, my own hobby and perhaps to pass on.
