There is no good way to silence a wind instrument. You can imitate a brass mute: roll a closed, cone -shaped mute out of heavy paper, put 3 strips of some cork-like material on the outside (don't make so long it sticks out of the bell...) and convince her that with the mute in and her door closed you can't hear her...
It really does mute the instrument a lot, but it's not perfect...
