Two and a half weeks ago I had my wisdom teeth removed. I discovered that there was some communication between the upper surgical sites and my sinus, meaning air pressure in my mouth would go through the sites to my sinus.

I haven't played in three weeks and just picked up the oboe today for the first time (busy season ahead!). I thought my communication had healed but with the back pressure required for oboe playing, there is some slight air escaping into my sinus - not enough to interfere with oboe playing, and with no pain or discomfort, but it is there.

Given that this doesn't interfere with my playing nor do I have pain, I feel like I should really start playing at least a little soon. I will of course ask my doctor, but I can't see him until Wednesday.

Has anyone had this happen to them? If so, what did you do?

 Any and all advice welcome!
