Greetings! I do recall reading several years ago in IDRS of Don Plesnicar's passing--and I have not heard that anyone continued with his business. I don't know about John Hayden. It surely puts you in a pickle when your cane guy leaves this world! (I always bought from Wally Bhosys, also passed). I now buy from Roger Miller--he has sold me some cane that I'm happy with. But I do miss the conversations with Wally about technique and oboes--he had a 1921 "LL" Series Loree too--2 serial numbers away from mine, and taught me so much about alternate fingerings on this oboe.
These senior statesmen of the cane world can teach you alot.
