Hi,
I just started the oboe. I hate the smell of mint.
Does any cork grease NOT smell like mint?
Thanks!

Could be worse...we could still be using beef tallow as cork grease. That stuff used to stink up the case really badly.

Hetman makes a whole line of synthetic lubricants in various viscosities from trombone slide oil to cork lubricant. The #19 Cork Lube is odorless, tasteless and is my favorite lube.
Go to www.hetman.com to find a music store near you that stocks it.

I understand you can use any non-sweetened kind of chapstick as well.
