Hi,
I am wondering what you consider to be the most underrated or underplayed repertoire for the oboe or the english horn.
Having recently played it, in my view Daelli's "Fantasy on themes from Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto" deserves far more attention as a remarkable work of composition. If you haven't come across it do check it out, it is much easier than Pasculli (although still technically demanding) and a really unique piece.
Also I would say that the Vaughan Williams oboe concerto is underplayed; in my view it is as good or even better than works by Mozart or Strauss.
What suggestions do you have?
