Yes, I'm not surprized as I also own a Moennig metal oboe. The Moennig family had many well known woodwind and string makers and repairers. The most famous was, of course, Hans Moennig in Philadelphia. I had a Horst Moennig oboe at one time and I have a Buffet EH that has the initials HM on the back sides of the keys.
The oboe I have has an automatic octave key and has two of the little side keys on the top joint while a Loree has only one. I usually only play on my Loree so I don't remember how it sounded but I don't recall wanting to switch to it. Most likely, it was made when Moennig made metal clarinets, expecting to avoid instrument cracking in cold weather.
These oboes are desired mostly by collectors now and someday I'll find a collector who will want it.
