While I agree with that black key on clear oboe concept (actually really dig it), I would also like to propose the stealth oboe. One that would be so clear, with clear keys and all, as to become a stealth oboe... invisible to the audience.
I realize the springs, and pads would need to conform, but just imagine...
We'd finally be able to compete in air guitar events.
A player, a reed,... seemingly hung in space,.. hands clasping nothing and fingers moving wildly about.... whislt the most beautiful of sounds emanated and filled the room.
A great visual I would imagine...
