Congratulations to all the oboe students at the RSAMD involved with the Oboe Open Day. Several of them are students of mine, including the leads in the revamped La Ci Darem La Mano! I was sitting in the audience on the day and can honestly say I haven't laughed so much in a very long time. It's also reassuring that watching the 1st and 3rd backing singers - the ex principal cor of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the current principal oboe of the RSNO, soon to be principal of the Swedish Chamber Orchestra - tells me that there might be a future as a drag artist when ones oboe playing is on the wane!!!!
