I also want to try these instruments. I only know from hearsay that Marigaux has the reputation of cracking and Frank/Moenning have the reputation of NOT cracking.
But then, there is a thread here on crack prevention and the key there is humidity: wipe out condensation, but keep a damp-it in the case.
