I don't know about ensemble settings, but when I started, I bought the Pierre Cruchon method. I absolutely loved it because it had LOTS of classical snippets and got me familiar with the baroque greats, opera favourites and others while still providing technical exercises and the basics of reed making!
It was actually stolen in high-school! Anyone know if it is still published?
