It would be great to get your teacher's source for reeds. But since you asked...
I wouldn't even try "store brand" reeds - there are several out there you can purchase but they have never been acceptable to me.
There is a website where you can "rate" reeds by different makers - http://reedreviews.net/ Keep in mind that the reviews may not be by experienced players but it can give you a good idea and possibly some nearby makers.
If your teacher doesn't make reeds for you, you can call your local university/college and see if one of the oboe players sells reeds. Asking around is a great idea because of course this is rather expensive! I can certainly recommend the guy I buy from (when I'm being lazy) who makes AMAZING reeds, although he is not near you in location. His site is http://www.canecrafters.com/
