So it is either a 330 or 333.
I'm not a player....is there a relatively simple way I can figure out which model it is on my own?
Thanks again

If it says "Renard" or "Artist Model" anywhere on it, then it is not a 300. The Fox 300 is a plastic version of their professional oboe, and has only ever had the "Fox" insignia on the bell.
It is either a 330 or a 333, determined by the extent of the presence of full-conservatory keywork.

Yes. Look carefully at the photos Chris linked to and compare the keywork. The 333 is the most basic of the models and does not have a linked low B/C# trill, whereas the 330 does. The 330 also has the low C "banana" key which the 333 lacks.

Looking at your oboe (and comparing to the links Chris P provided)...align your oboe so it like in the pictures (keys facing you, bell at the bottom.) Look at bottom of the middle section, specifically the keys on your right. Look for a key shape slightly to the right of the main finger keys, with a solid circle at the top and the metal 'lever' aiming towards the bell, making it a north-south key. Your oboe will have at least one of these - if you have 1, it is a 333, if you have two of these (one north of the other) then it is a 330. Use the links to compare the pictures now that you have a sense what to look for. Hope that isn't too confusing!

(simpler way to figure it out)
Take the middle joint in your right hand, thumb under the thumbplate, three fingers on the three main finger pads (it should be obvious where they go). Is there a banana-shaped key just beyond your ring-finger? If so, it is a 330.
