Re: Flat middle c, non reed related

It is a completely new oboe Chris. A Buffet Greenline. My old Loree DM had it too, but not to such an extend. I realised today that if i raise the oboe at a very high angle it helps the diminish the problem, to a certain extend. If i chose to play at a lower angle obviously things will not be better. I say this after hearing many people, including members of the board whom bought oboes at Howarths, say that it is possible to adjust the intonation of certain notes....I realise it is perhaps a reed problem so i went ahead and tried all sorts of reed makers and i myself tried all sorts of formulas for reeds, but non helped. The playing angle was the key, and i think i got it. (I play now a bit like Ogrintchouk angle wise in his videos that you can see on Youtube)

Let's say i am right and the angle is now correct and the reeds are fine and still that c is flat and it has nothing to do with the Bb and C pads....what might be wrong? And what can be done?

Regards,
Howard
