Diamond shaped half hole and high C#-D#

I sent this to Geoffrey at all experts today but have yet to receive a reply, figured that someone on the board must know something about this as well. Hope you can share your 2 cents on this topic!

Greetings Geoffrey,

I have recently been having trouble getting used to the altissimo range of the new Buffet. I am contemplating whether i should remove the diamond shaped half hole on this new instrument. With my reeds i am unable to get a decent high C#, D, and D# that speaks decently and can diminuendo well without that extra noise, especially when i re-articulate the same notes. I have tried all possible fingerings and also tried playing with the height of the plate itself + low C key. Did you have to change anything with the setting on this when you got yours? My old Loree DM had a round hole on the left hand plate and i didn't have such problems. All my reeds are acting in this way so i believe it is not a matter of reeds. What do you think? Should i remove it? What are other possible causes of this? Thank you.
