 tie length 45 - 46 mm staples

Hi,

I have been experimenting with shorter staples for my new Marigaux. Question, I have tied at 73.5 RDG -1N shaper. How should I determine a tie length for a shorter staple?

Right now - I just minus a mm or two - is this the right approach.

The reeds are coming along fine.
