The best (and only realistic) thing to do is to take it to a Howarth specialist as it's still under warranty - provided the daughter hasn't done anything untoward in 'adjusting' it.
Dominic Ball is the nearest (he's in Stoke), it's probably something relatively simple that's wrong with it that can most likely be put right within an hour.
