It is 'pure' to obtain the result you desire. However the extra fingers can on some instruments change the pitch or color of the C in an undesirable manner.
In order to make that transition smooth when you cannot place the extra fingers down, practice the change slowly, not changing until you have all the necessary hand movement mentally prepared. Listen carefully to whether there is an actual intermediate pitch which you produce before the C#, as that might give you a clue as to which finger is not moving in sync with the others. Also make certain that the half hole finger remains firmly pressed down during the transition.
Instruments vary greatly in their fluidity between certain notes. Do what your instrument needs to have done to produce the best result.
